Today during the Press conference at Press club of India, Sh. Ram Pal Singh President, AIPTF Condemned the Jalore incident and stressed on the need for the teacher to be sensitive, and patient towards the children. The teachers should take a pledge that incidents like these should not be repeated in future in which a nine year old child lost his life due to beating by the teacher. AIPTF expresses its deepest regret over the incident and is extremely perturbed by this incident.
He reminded the fellow teachers that the federation has formulated the Code of Professional Ethics for the benefits of the twenty seven million teaching community. He called upon all the teachers to strictly adhere to Code of Professional ethics developed by the Federation. This code is also being circulated along with the press release.
Sh.K.K.Tripathy Secretary General-AIPTFurged that the teacher training institutions should bring significant improvements in themselves as only in these training institutions teachers are groomed. Even at the time of recruitment of teachers adequate precautions need to be undertaken as incidents like these are a insult to the entire teaching community.
Dr R.C. Dabas Senior Vice President AIPTF said that the respective centre and state governments have deprived the teachers of their rights and some of the demands especially pertaining to primary teachers have been neglected.
1. Restoration of Old Pension Scheme
2. Full implemntaion of Seventh Pay recommendations
3. Regularisation of services of Contract/ Para teachers
4. Removal of anti education and teachers provisions from New Education Policy 2020
In continuation to the nation wide agitation and to ratify for the implementation of these demands, a signature campaign will be initated.On 5th Sept. 2022 i.e., the teachers’ day a memorandum of demands will be submitted by the office bearers of the districts to the Honourable President and Honourable Prime Minster.
After that from 15th to 20th Sept 2022 all the districts will be staging dharna at respective districts and on 15th November 2022 all the state capitals will be protesting for implementation of these demands which will culminate on 30 January 2023 at Jantar Mantar, New Delhi to Parliament House to press for acceptance of their demands and simultaneously a memorandum of demands will also be submitted to the Her Excellency President, Honourable Prime Minister, Education Minister, and Finance Minister. Dr R.C Dabas warned that if these above mentioned demands are not met/ resolved then the AIPTF will be forced to continue its nation wide dharna with a great vigour. In today’s press conference Media cell Incharge Sh Arvind Mishra, Mr Neel kamal Aggarwal, and Mr Anuj Tyagi were also present.
